When we decided to make Jesus the Lord of our Life!!

As my wife and I started seeking the Lord for our lives He started showing us what he wanted us to do.  Back in October of Last year God had lead my wife from Lowe's to become a stay at home wife. Then He lead her to start volunteering at the Wilkes Pregnancy Care Center. As she was volunteering a position opened up to work there. She prayed to see if this is where God wanted her and she accepted the job. She loved the people and what they were doing to spread the Gospel to these young ladies.

Then, in January, God started working in my life that I needed to leave Lowe's. I was very selfish and wanted to wait till bonus time at Lowe's so the bonus came and left I was still there. So then we started praying that if He wanted me to leave Lowe's I needed him to take the passion for Lowe's out of me. So he didn't waste anytime before my passion was gone. I use to get so excited when someone would make a sale and after the passion was gone I was like why would someone spend $30,000 on cabinets for their home. There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to improve their home but I was like I couldn't spend that much when I know there is homeless people, families without food or a home to stay in, and how much the Church's are dying in this world because of people are not tithing like they should. So then I started looking for another job I first started looking inside Lowe's and God was like "No Jason I want you to leave Lowe's all together." Well then I started applying for jobs outside of Lowe's and I never got a call from any of those jobs. Then on June 12th while I was praying God says I need you to have Faith like Peter and to step out of the boat and to start following me. Katie, my wife, was also told it is time for Jason to step out of Lowe's. So on the 14th of June I gave my notice to my supervisor and started sharing my Faith with him. We had numerous people come up to us and say are you crazy you are leaving a great company. They also said you are quiting your job and you don't have anything to go to. So this opened up a lot of conversations about my Faith and what my Savior had done for me. I had one of my specialist come up to me and say "I was so shocked when I heard that you were leaving Lowe's because when I think of Lowe's I think of Jason Church bleeding Lowe's blue, shouting the Lowe's cheer, and pushing sales. I can remember how you would talk about how we need to invest in Lowe's stock and how we should always try to move up in this company." I realized after this conversation that God wanted me to give up what my heart and passion had been all about for the past 12 years. After giving my notice it open many windows for me to share my testimony to believers and non believers.

After I put my notice in Katie and I would pray that he would use us for His kingdom and we are ready to go where he wants us to go. So on July 3rd at church I had prayed that same prayer before the service started. Our Pastor had mention at the end of the service that we have the opportunity to purchase the mission house in Weslaco Texas. Then as crystal is clear God says "That is where you are going" and I was like are you sure that is where you want us to go. Then Kevin says I feel that it might be a couple or family in this church that will go to run this mission house. Then God says again " I told you this is where you are going" and then I just started crying because the Holy Spirit had convicted me that this is where God wants you and Katie. Then Katie turns and looks at me with tears rolling down her face as well. She started asking me what was wrong and I told her "I cant talk about it right now" I was so emotional I couldn't even sing without crying. So we go up to the altar to pray and we can't stop crying because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit. When we got out of church we talked about what had gone on during church and we both had conformation that we were going to Texas. Later that afternoon Katie sent a text to Kevin, our Pastor, that the Holy Spirit is leading us to go to Weslaco, Texas to run the mission house then he texted back "I am not surprised".
It is amazing how Great Our God is that he had already put us on Kevin's heart and some other people that he wanted us to be in Weslaco Texas.

This reminds me of my study in "Experiencing God" that in John 5:17, 19-20 "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too, am working. I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these."

In these verses Jesus clearly states how He knew what to do. Jesus watched to see where His Father was at work and joined Him. This is what MPBC and us wants to do because we see God at work in Weslaco, Texas and Mexico.

I would ask for everyone to be in prayer for our vote on August 14th to purchase the mission house and that Katie and I will keep growing closer to God.

  1. I'm crying so much right now that I can't see how to type very well. However, I have seen and experienced the old man from Lowe's and the NEW MAN IN CHRIST! I can testify by saying WOW, look at what God has done for Jason, because I remember how happy you were to get the badge just to enter the Corp. building and your comment about how they never needed to worry about you, because you were true blue! I'm so thankful you found Jesus and left behind the blue world. My heart overflows with joy for you and Katie as you both step out in faith and choose to put God first. It speaks volumes as a testimony when you jump out of the boat, say with all your heart "God, here I am, please use me for Your Kingdom!" and fully trust Him! I have always said great things come from Texas...I'm praying with faith believing that you both are going to do GREAT things for Christ there and more great things will be coming from Texas because of your willingness to follow Christ wherever He leads! I'm so proud of you guys! To God be all the Glory!!

  2. oh wow - Jason you gave me goose bumps! You have just shared the best testimony. WOW! You know hearing and saying TRUST in God and then having the FAITH (For All I Trust Him) is just words -- but what you have done - shows how much we all need to trust and have faith in him! This is completely amazing - and like someone else thought - you were True Lowe's - but wow with the change of it no longer being Lowe's but GOD! You have inspired me to stop thinking of what i need to do and leave it in his hands. i keep just saying wow over and over in my mind! This is just amazing!!! I know that he has a plan and a reason for everything. I hope to see more of your blogs - and seeing what all he has done in your lives.
